Ford EcoSport Diesel

 ABOUT:

The Ford EcoSport is a mini sport utility vehicle (SUV), originally built in Brazil by Ford since 2003 at the Camacari plant. A second generation concept model was launched at the 2012 Delhi Motor Show and is intended to be a global car with a new factory in Chennai, India.
he EcoSport was designed by the Ford-US Truck Vehicle Center (program code BV226) and based on the Cologne built European Fusion, because of this, the project used the Ford B3 platform.
The EcoSport is one of Ford's best-seller models in Brazil (consistently appearing on the 10 best-selling vehicles), Argentina, Venezuela and Mexico. Its main competitors are the Fiat Palio Weekend Adventure, Volkswagen Cross Fox. In 2011 sales reached 700,000. The EcoSport has sold well.
The Ford Ecosport arrived in late 2003 to Mexico as a 2004 model. The reception by the public was impressive and continued until 2006. For the 2007 model year, sales of the small SUV began slipping and stopped being a hot seller. Compared to 15,000 units sold in 2004, only 10,000 units of the 2007 model year were sold. This trend continued to worsen for the refreshed 2008 model year due in part to a price increase. Only 6,345 units of the 2008 model year were sold, and 2009 model year sales through July 2009 were a mere 2,135 units. Due to decreasing sales, and heightened competition from the Ford Escape, Ford has announced that a shortened 2010 model year will be the last sold in Mexico.
The second generation of Ecosport is based on the 2011 Ford Fiesta B-platform. It won't be sold exclusively at Latin America and will become to be a global car. A concept car of Ecosport was presented just a day before the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo, in India on 4 January. Sales in India are expected to start by the end of 2012.
The EcoSport will be powered by a British designed 1.0-liter, 3 cylinder turbocharged Eco Boost petrol engine which has a power output of 120 PS (88 kW; 118 bhp) and 170 N·m (125 lb·ft) of torque. The engine features Ti-VCT (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing) which plays a part in the turbocharged engine’s peak torque starting at 1,300 rpm.
Ford has clearly stated that EcoSport will be a sub 4 meter car which means shorter than many of the hatches. Give it a look and it’s hard to believe if it’s actually that short. The design of this car is exceptional. The people at Auto Expo couldn't believe if they will see this car plying on Indian roads. We have never seen a compact SUV as dazzling as EcoSport in India. Turn once, twice, thrice around it and you just can’t stop wondering how unique this car is. There is no doubt that Ford has tried to bring all the SUV characteristics to this car. This five seater SUV stands high and tall. It looks extremely aggressive from its front. It has a massive front bumper sporting a huge three layered air dam.
