Renault Clio

Expected in : 2013 or 2014 Year
Expected Price : 6 Lakhs - 7 Lakhs

The Renault Clio is a supermini car produced by the French automobile manufacturer Renault. Originally launched in 1990, it is currently in its fourth generation as of 2013. The Clio has seen substantial critical and commercial success, being consistently one of Europe's top-selling cars since its launch, and it is largely credited with restoring Renault's reputation and stature after a difficult second half of the 1980's. The Clio is the only car to have been elected European Car of the Year twice, in 1991 and in 2006.The Clio has been sold as the Renault Lutecia in Japan, because Honda owns the rights for the name CLIO (being one of Honda's sales networks in Japan called Honda Clio). The Clio Renault Sport is equipped with a new naturally aspirated 16-valve 2.0 L engine based on the earlier version used in the second generation Clio Renault sport and a 6-speed manual gearbox. The engine develops 197 PS (145 kW) at 7250 rpm. The top speed is 215 km/h (134 mph) and 0–100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds.
An estate version called Sport Tourer was unveiled in March 2007. At the same time, Renault replaced the 1.4 L atmospheric engine with a new turbocharged 1.2 TCe version, with 101 PS (74 kW) and 145 N·m (107 lb·ft) of maximum torque. It the 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear over 4500rpm the turbocharger add 5 extra HP.
New Clio's versatility is founded on even more efficient road holding and enhanced travelling comfort, while power is provided by a choice of engines that show the way forward in terms of low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. the range includes a diesel power plant which returns an unbeatable 3.2 liters 100km and 83g of CO2/km.The hatchback version of New Clio will go on sale in October 2012, while Clio Estate and Clio RS are scheduled to follow in the first quarter of 2013.
Inside, a clean facia puts front-and-center the tablet-style navigation and phone screen, which comes as standard on most versions. The clocks sit in bold 3D chrome bezels. Big design statements everywhere.Luckily, under the skin it's good enough that the affair won't turn sour. We kicked off in the brand-new 0.9-litre three-cylinder engine. If that sounds feeble, well, at least it has a turbo and manages 90bhp. At low speeds it's enough, because the new Clio is lighter than the old by about 100kg. It's sweet and mellow-sounding.But on a motorway, air drag means you run out of puff. Get shoved into the middle lane uphill, and you'll need space to regain enough speed to move out again. Still, for most lightly-loaded jobs this engine is a cheerful and economical companion.
